Bike Servicing
Bikes need quite a bit of looking after, more than people think. With cycling being a fun leisure activity, not much seriousness is given to the maintenance side of things.
Bikes have to be lightweight, so we can physically move them, they have to be mechanically accurate so they function well and they have to be relatively affordable. This means longevity and durability normally take a bit of a back seat, meaning, more preventative maintenance is required to keep them working well. On top of all that, they are completely open to the elements.
Keeping your bike clean and working well is a big part of prolonging its life. With raw materials getting more expensive, bike parts get more expensive too. So a bit of TLC goes a long way, physically and financially.
There is a bit of a sweet spot with bikes in terms of durability and functionality.
The more expensive the bike, the better it will function, but it will require more maintenance and replacement parts will be more expensive. (Imagine owning a Ferrari vs a Peugeot).
The cheaper the bike, the worse it will function and it will probably require a lot of maintenance as parts are made from cheap materials and are manufactured to a lower standard. On the plus side, the parts will be cheap.
Mid-range bikes and normally the best of both worlds. They function relatively well for the average user, they’re fairly durable and parts aren’t too expensive in comparison to others. Anything between £350-£1000 can be considered mid-range.
Bike Refurbish
For neglected, once loved and forgotten bikes. Resurrecting older bikes may not be more appropriate than buying new, however miracles can happen.
The labour involved in refurbishing a forgotten bike is normally more than your average service. Parts are often seized, bolts can break and components need a lot of cleaning.
Roughly one week turnaround time depending on parts availability.
I have limited availability so get your bike booked in advanced to save disappointment.
If you are taking part in a race or other event I would advise booking your bike 6-12 weeks prior to the event to allow for any cable stretch, compression of brake/gear housing, bearings to run in etc…

Please get in touch for any other jobs that are not listed here, I can give you a rough price and turnaround time.
Honesty & integrity are our core Values.
How it works - I will go over your whole bike, sort of like a M.O.T and make a list of everything wrong with it (if anything). I will then contact you with two prices - one for essential work that needs doing and another for any advisories. You can then decide on what you’d like me to proceed with. I’m happy to go over things and talk options, there really isn’t a one size fits all approach with servicing, each bike is different!
If you are working to a budget, please discuss your needs. It is never my intention to condemn a bike to scrap without assessing all options.
Prices are for labour only and are our minimum charge.
They’re subject to revision on inspection. We will do all we can to let you know if different to initial check.
